The meta-narrative of Scripture refers to the overarching story that unifies the entire Bible.

The opening chapters of Genesis invite us to see ourselves in the story. The beginning of the story is a good God creating a good world, but sin fractures it.

From the beginning, we learn that the meta-narrative is a…

  1.    , Bad  ,  News Story.

Human nature is such that when we receive bad news, we then want some good news too and hope the good outweighs the bad.

The good news of the gospel is only possible by the bad news events of Genesis 3.

The bad news is that Adam and Eve had to leave the garden. The good news is God continued to love and care for Adam and Eve despite their sinful decision and their departure from this perfect place.

The good news is we can experience the goodness of God’s plans if we choose to cooperate with and submit to his good design for our lives.
