The Hebrew word for “darkness” means a sense of despair, ignorance, and death. It can mean obscurity or even a secret place.

1. God’s Promises to be  .

When Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to the temple for circumcision, they met a man named Simeon. Josh Mathews writes, “This devout and righteous man was waiting in Jerusalem, longing expectantly for Scripture’s fulfillment.”

2. King who   and offers  .

The heart of Isaiah’s promise is that God will send a king who will lead Israel and the entire world.

Isaiah’s prophecy told of a coming king who would serve as a Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Father Forever, and a Prince of Peace.
