When we think of testing, good thoughts and positive vibes are not usually our initial reactions. Negative thoughts and bad vibes fill our hearts and minds.

As Christians, we should remember that trials are to be expected in this life. Jesus said in John 16, “In this world you will have trouble.”

When we consider joy in the struggle, it’s okay to ask…

  1.     ?

Most people will do almost anything as long as they understand the purpose behind it.

James isn’t providing us the why behind the specific test, just the why for tests in general.

James challenges us to have joy in the midst of our test, in the heart of hard times.

When we consider joy in the struggle, we learn to…

  1.      .

The term “double-minded” in verse 8 is the Greek word that means “two-souls.”

God gives wisdom generously to those who ask in faith and then applies that faith to the test.

We must accept the plan of God even as we struggle to know the why and where it will lead us.
