Our fear of condemnation is not just about the afterlife but about our present life and our experiences when tested.

There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. Jesus has fulfilled the requirements of the law that we could never fulfill on our own.

Because there is no condemnation you can…

  1.   in   When  .

N. T. Wright explains, “There is no condemnation, because the spirit-law has set you free from the sin-law, because God has acted in his son and his spirit to condemn sin and provide life.”

Jesus is our stand-in, doing the unglamorous work, bearing the brunt of our sins so we can receive forgiveness and live in freedom even when tested.

Because there is no condemnation you can…

2.   His   When Tested.

Robert Mounce wrote, “Whether or not a person is filled with the Spirit and living in his presence is truly a life-and-death matter.”

Only in the work of Christ at the cross and the ongoing transformation of the Holy Spirit into his likeness do we find the confidence to live in the freedom of no condemnation.
