Follow Along with the Message

Jesus’ return from the wilderness was a homecoming that almost led people in his hometown to throw him from a cliff! Jesus’ return to Jerusalem would see him sentenced to death by those he came to save.

Maybe you have heard the saying, or even experienced the saying, “You can never go home again.” This was Jesus’ experience following the wilderness.

When we finally leave or launch from our own wilderness moments the hope is we depart with…

  1. A    of Who   Is.

Though Jesus had returned from the wilderness full of the Holy Spirit, his hometown could only see him for who they had known him to be in the past, not for who he was now.

When we finally leave or launch from our own wilderness moments the hope is we depart with…

  1. A   on the Not on the  .

When we limit our expectations of what God can do to only what we have seen him do in the past, we can become blind to celebrating and encouraging the new ways God chooses to move in the present and future.

Are our past religious expectations of Jesus preventing us from engaging with him in the present? Come out of the wilderness and follow him to the cross.
