This Sunday, May 4th, is Star Wars Sunday for some, but for HGBC, we are calling it Next Steps Sunday. Every Sunday during our time of response, we are each challenged to take our next step on our journey of faith. For some, that is salvation or baptism, for others it is connecting with a Life Group; maybe your step is using your gifts and serving, and for others it is joining the family and becoming a member of HGBC. All of us have a decision to make and a step to take as we faithfully follow the Lord as a family.
Quoting his friend Mike Bullmore, David Sunday writes, “God has a design for your family and ministry so that faithfulness in the family enhances faithfulness in the church, and faithfulness in the church enhances faithfulness in the family.” The human family unit is meant to be a small model of how the family of God works. Knowing that the family is meant to be a model for the church changes our perspective of what and whom the church is for and what the church exists to do. What is your next step?
