Pastor Jason Atchley - May 8, 2024

Has it ever happened to you? It has happened to me. I get up and walk into a room and forget why I came in there in the first place. Kevin McSpadden said that, “With the amount of information that demands our attention, we are struggling to retain information and have an increasingly short attention span.”  Struggling to remember is not just a physical hurdle but a spiritual one as well. It is important to always remember what God has done for us, individually and collectively as a church.

Deuteronomy 4:9 says, “Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live.” Why is remembering emphasized? Because fully trusting and obeying God even in the most difficult of times takes remembering our God who is with us all the time. Henry B. Eyring said, “Ask yourself, 'How did God bless me today?' If you do that long enough and with faith, you will find yourself remembering His blessings.”

Remembering with great joy,

Jason
