Learning is a wondrous adventure to preschoolers. From the moment a baby arrives in this world, he begins to learn. What a privilege it is to teach that little one about the God who made him! Our goal in preschool ministry is to make the most of every opportunity. Each time a child comes to HGBC, we want her to have a learning experience that teaches her more about our Lord. We strive to do this by engaging preschoolers in the learning process. The activites are planned so that our children interact with each other, committed teachers, and our loving God who made both them and the wonderful world they so enjoy exploring.
Our Sunday Morning Bible study curriculum is designed to involve all five senses as children participate in a wide variety of learning activities including interactive story boards, learning mats, Big Books, musical and sound effect CDs and more. Children discover that church is a place where everyone is welcome, that God loves them, is for them and wants to have a forever friendship with them through Jesus. Dedicated volunteer teachers provide a caring environment and a Godly role model during at least one of the 2 Sunday School time frames of 9:30 and 11:00. Extended care is also provided for newborns through preschoolers who have not entered kindergarten by September 1 of the current academic year. During this time, the children are involved in Bible stories, art activities, music and other age-appropriate activities. Preschoolers under Kindergarten age may attend both the 9:30 Sunday School time frame as well as the 11:00. Kindergarteners are asked to attend worship with their families at either 9:30 or 11:00.
On Wednesday evenings during the school year, preschoolers are invited to attend Mini M&M's, a combination of Music and Missions. During the music teaching, preschoolers will learn basic music fundamentals along with age-appropriate spiritual truths. During the missions teaching, preschoolers will learn about missions in our country and around the world through art, stories, games and other age appropriate activities.
Wednesday from 6:00 - 6:50 p.m.
Adopt a Preschool Class
We are asking for your support of the preschool area by adopting a preschool class. Adopting a class would mean that you would support them through prayer for the lead teacher and for the children of the class. Another way we are asking you to support them is to volunteer to serve as the teacher helper in that preschool class. Ask your class leader for more details.
