Moses led his people out of Egypt, but Joshua will lead his people into a new land.

God knew Joshua’s insecurities. He doesn’t scold or chastise him for being human and feeling overwhelmed and fearful. But God doesn’t let him off the hook, either!

Moses said in Deuteronomy 31:6–7, “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.”
